You may know this guy from his breif appearence on Jay-Z’s “Dig A Hole” his name is Sterling Simms. A new and upcoming artist born and raised in Philadelphia currently residing in Atlanta under Def Jam. I’m really feeling his sound like his ‘Space said, he sounds like some inspired Brian McKnight, Usher and Jaheim with a little bit more urban edge. With Simms’ recent release “Jump Off,” which he produced along with Oak and [co-writer] Steven Tyner of the ‘Knightwritahz,’ already receiving good reveiws there is no doubt on the anticipation of new material from Mr. Simms but … we shall see.

The body of legendary soul singer James Brown had yet to be buried on Friday, 19 days after his death, because his family has not yet decided where and how to lay him to rest, said his lawyer. The 73-year-old “King of Soul” died of congestive heart failure in an Atlanta, Georgia, hospital on December 25. His body has been kept at his house in Beach Island, South Carolina, in a temperature-controlled environment, an employee of the Augusta funeral home in charge of his embalmment told AFP. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee’s will was read to his six children on Thursday and would be probated next week, said Brown’s lawyer, Buddy Dallas.
But the place and manner of his burial is still undecided. “The family will announce where the mausoleum is to be built,” said Dallas. “There has been an awful lot of effort devoted to his affairs. It just takes time… The body is well-protected.” Signs of discord among relatives over Brown’s estate were beginning to emerge at the time of a tribute to Brown at the Apollo Theatre in New York on December 28. Brown’s partner, 36-year-old singer Tomi Rae Hynie, who lived with Brown and mothered his youngest son, five-year-old James, said she was barred from entering the star’s house on the day of this death. United States media have reported conflicts over inheritance rights, with a lawyer for Brown questioning the legality of Hynie’s marriage to the singer.

A man has reportedly approached the New York Daily News claiming to have viewed a sex tape of singer Ray-J and Beverly Hills socialite Kim Kardashian, and that it is in the process of being brokered for one million dollars. “It’s your typical graphic sex tape,” he tells the paper, adding “there’s a golden shower at the end.” Kardashian, the daughter of former O.J. Simpson defense lawyer Robert Kardashian and homie of Paris Hilton, has gone on record denying that the sex tape even exists. “There is no tape. It is false,” she was reported as saying. But the Daily News source said: “She and her camp want to decide exactly what gets released and what doesn’t. She is actively involved in its sale, but wishes to do it through a third party.” Kardashian has been linked romantically with rapper The Game and Nick Lachey, among others.

Toni Braxton sued her former personal manager Friday, saying he owes her at least $10 million for maneuvering to have her abandon a long, lucrative relationship with her record company and jump to his own record label. The lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Manhattan accuses Barry Hankerson of putting his financial interests ahead of Braxton’s and using fraud, deception and double-dealing to get her to leave Arista Records.
“Hankerson actively sought to destroy Braxton’s relationship with Arista through underhanded `double-talk,’ telling Braxton that Arista was not interested in working with her anymore, while telling Arista that Braxton no longer wanted to record for Arista,” the lawsuit said.
There was no public telephone listing to reach Hankerson for comment Friday, and a telephone listing for his company, Blackground Records, was not in service. In March 2003, Braxton ended the business relationship she had begun with Arista in 1991, when she signed a contract that led to her 1993 debut album, “Toni Braxton.” That recording rose to No. 1 on the “Billboard 200″ and sold more than 10 million albums worldwide. Braxton received the Grammy Award for best new artist in 1993, and she won Grammys that year and the next for best female R&B vocal performance. The singer said in the lawsuit that she hired Hankerson as her personal manager in late 1997 and a year later the singer negotiated a new five-album deal with Arista, receiving more than $20 million in advances on the records. It’s the same with safe sex. As opposed to being part of a safe sex campaign, I’m going to make condoms and donate a part of the proceeds to HIV awareness.”

Jan.13.2007 // “Tyrese Punched His Pregnant Girlfriend” - FALSE!
Around the time I was unable to update due to my busy schedule a story (rumor) came out about Tyrese and his pregnant girlfriend getting into an altercation, where he ended up punching her. When I first heard of this, I was kind of skeptical because a few sites said he “punched her in the stomache,” while others said that he “punched her in her arm” or something like that. So basically I didn’t really believe it due to the conflict of information. Turns out, the story was heavily exaggerated:
An attorney for the pregnant girlfriend of R&B star Tyrese says recent reports of the artist assaulting her during a fight last Thursday have been greatly exaggerated. TMZ.com first reported that police were investigating the singer/actor after the woman, who has not been identified, called 911 accusing him of punching her in the arm and thigh before jumping in his car and driving away. “Reports Tyrese punched my client — his girlfriend — in the arm, thigh or anywhere else are false,” said Paul Berra ESQ., the woman’s attorney. “It is true, Mr. Gibson and his girlfriend had been arguing. Yeah, yeah, yeah! I know that for a while updates have been very far apart and few in between, and I feel really bad for that! This is supposed to be a blog where I update DAILY on what’s going on in pop culture, but so far that hasn’t happened, hehe. School was really hectic for me this past month and a half with midterms and all, but luckily those are OVER and the workload has slowed down, which will give me more time to make the daily updates that need to be made around here!
