OK, I know Lumidee is not exactly a “New Artist” on account of her debut back in ‘03, but this is a fresh start for her, plus she recently signed to TVT, “I’m coming out of left field. Nobody ever thought of me coming back on a street credible label like TVT, alongside acts like Pitbull, Lil Jon and the Ying Yang Twins. Actually, nobody ever thought of me really even coming back, period.” I know I didn’t. You can read more on Lumidee HERE! Lumidee’s album Unexpected is out in stores now, you can also she the video for her single “She’s Like The Wind” featuring Tony Sunshine after the cut - this is pretty hot! Hot new track from Bones Thugs-N-Harmony, “Lil’ L.O.V.E,” featuring Mariah Carey from Strength and Loyalty; produced by Jermaine Dupri. I like it, so gald Bone Thugs-N-Harmony are back, I’m gald they helped out Mariah as well.
The Rap-Up recently had the chance to listen to Kelly Rowland’s ENTIRE sophomore album, Miss Kelly, last week and do a review and here is what they had to say…
1. “Like This” featuring Eve; Produced by Polow Da Don; Co-written by Sean Garrett and Kelly Rowland. We’ve all heard this song by now. It’s our favorite track on the album and definitely was the right choice for the first single. Kelly did another song with Eve last year called “Gotsta Go” which did not make the album.
2. “Comeback”Produced by Scott Storch; Co-written by Kelly Rowland. Catchy, upbeat song and the first of two Scott Storch produced tracks on the CD. On the hook, Kelly sings: “I got that comeback, that hubba bubba…I got a lifetime warranty, guarantee you’ll never leave.”
3. “Ghetto” featuring Snoop Dogg Produced by Tank; Co-written by Kelly Rowland and Tank. We were told that it was between this and “Work (Put It In)” for the second single. Kelly and her label were going back and forth and finally Kelly told them that she wanted this to be the second single. The smooth, mid-tempo R&B cut features Snoop Dogg. Kelly sings: “Rock your Timbs, sag your jeans, ice your grills, it’s all good with me…That’s what my baby wants, that’s how we be gettin’ it done.” Snoop has a rap in the intro and the middle of the song.
4. “Work (Put It In)” Produced by Scott Storch; Co-written by Kelly Rowland. This is our second favorite track off the album after “Like This.” This would get our vote for the second single, but “Ghetto” with Snoop is probably a safer choice. The upbeat, fast-paced song has a drumbeat and is a definite club banger. Kelly sings: “No turning back from this party…See all that you can see…Do it baby do it, get it in.”
5. “Flash Back” Produced by Charlie and Kenny Bereal; Co-written by Kelly Rowland. You might have heard this song already. It was leaked to the Internet a while ago. Kelly sings: “I wish I could relive the past.” The album version is pretty much the same as the one that’s on the net. The instrumental reminds us of the Main Street Electrical Parade at Disneyland. The father of Madonna’s adopted son David Banda is disappointed he hears so little of the baby she brought from Malawi to the UK six months ago. Yohane Banda, who claims he still has no regrets about giving up his child, has begged the pop star to give him regular updates of his son’s progress abroad. Speaking ahead of Madonna’s planned charity visit to the African country this week, Banda claims he isn’t even sure she’ll visit.
He says, “Officially I haven’t heard anything. There has been no communication whatsoever but I have heard the rumors and I get the feeling that she might be coming. I am excited. I hope that there will be an opportunity for me to see my son. I understand that she is a busy person, but if there is an opportunity, I would appreciate it if she could tell me how my son is doing, which has not been the case so far.”
Aww, poor guy! Don’t you all just feel so sorry for him? ….. Haven’t you ever heard of the old saying, “No givsies backsies!” ?? Gahlee! I’m not saying that you shouldn’t be updated on what’s going on with your son, but you’re the one who gave him up! And to someone as big as Madonna! Do you really think she has the time to call your ass every time little David takes a poo? Let’s be real here!
Cameron Diaz can’t wait to grow old and dreams of living in a retirement village. The star insists she is not afraid of aging and believes the older generation are underrated by a youth-obsessed society.
The 34-year-old says, “I look forward to partaking in that elderly lifestyle. I wouldn’t mind being in a retirement village where you’re in a community with people who are like-minded and have the same interests. So often the elderly are just forgotten about, but I think there can be really green pastures at that age.”
Oh, wow! And I thought I was the only person who can’t wait ’til I lose all voluntary function in my bowels and bladder. You see, I just can’t wait ’til I’m able to poo-poo and pee-pee on myself without remorse, subjecting my children and grandchildren to changing my diaper every hour, on the hour. And being able to say whatever the hell I want to say, whenever the hell I want to say it is a perk too! People will just laugh off my witty & sarcastic comments saying to themselves, “He doesn’t mean it … he’s just old and senile.” When in all reality, I’ll mean every bit of it! Old age is not something to take lightly boys and girls…

OMARION LOOKING RATHER COZY WITH RIHANNA & HER FRIENDS!
According to In Touch Magazine, All Hip Hop, and damn-near every celebrity gossip blog on the web, Rihanna and Omarion are currently *clears throat* DATING! Now, over the past few months, she’s been linked with Jay-Z, Ne-Yo, and now Omarion, so I’m not exactly sure how true this is! Hell, it’s probably not true at all! But this is a gossip site, and this is worthy gossip, so inhale it, and accept it. I will, of course, keep you updated on this “breaking story!”
I wouldn’t classify myself as a “Harry Potter Fan” but I have been reading the novels ever since I was in the 4th grade when I was introduced to “Harry Potter & The Sorcerer’s Stone.” Hey, stop making that face! I ain’t the only black person that reads Harry Potter! Anyhow, back to the subject at hand … as you all may, or may not know, J.K. Rowling’s last, and final installment of the 7-book Harry Potter series will be released this summer - July 21 to be exact - and fans are already debating on what’s going to happen in this novel - since it is, of course, the last one!
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows won’t be on sale until July 21, but fans are busier than the Sorting Hat on the first day of a new term at Hogwarts. They’re discussing, dissecting and dishing on what has happened so far in the series and what will happen in the seventh and final book. And There’s plenty to talk about. Scholastic, the U.S. publisher of the Potter series, is turning up the heat on the pre-publication debate today by releasing the first of its “7 Questions of Harry Potter,” which it hopes will provoke lots of chatter over the next few months. Questions will be posted every two weeks at scholastic.com/harrypotter and select retail websites. Visitors to the Scholastic site will be linked to Discussion Chamber message boards, where they can chat with other fans. Scholastic is distributing to stores 5.5 million bookmarks with the seven questions. Question No. 1, “Who Will Live? Who Will Die?” is already the hottest topic of discussion. CONTINUE READING
The Rev. Al Sharpton has increased security at his office after receiving threats in response to his campaign to have Don Imus fired.
“We have received several threats that we consider serious,” Sharpton told the Daily News in Sunday’s edition. “I have been stabbed once, so we don’t take anything too lightly.”
Sharpton was stabbed in the chest in 1991 during a protest in Brooklyn. Charlie King, acting executive director of Sharpton’s National Action Network, said a caller telephoned the civil rights leader’s radio show on Saturday and threatened to “hunt him down and shoot him like an animal.” Police confirmed they have an increased presence near Sharpton’s church in Harlem and his staff. Sharpton became one of Imus’ most vocal critics after the shock jock used a racial slur while referring to the Rutgers women’s basketball team. Imus was fired from his radio show after calling the team “nappy-headed hos.”
Iight, now they takin this shit way too far. It ain’t that damn serious! So what if he lost his job, last time I checked I don’t think he was payin your bills, so what does it matter to you? But like the old sayin goes, “birds of a feather flock together” - or something like that. What I’m tryin to say is … there’re more racists ass white folk in America - Don Imus isn’t the only one, so it wouldn’t surprise me if one of his “goons” called in on Al Sharpton’s show. It really wouldn’t…
