FRIDAY, JULY 20TH 2007 » The original Dreamgirls musical recently celebrated their 25th anniversary, and to celebrate the occasion a live performance was held at the famous Fox Theater in Atlanta. Jennifer Holliday, the original Effie White, performed in the show in addition to Cindy Herron-Braggs (Deena) and Kiara Bennett (Lorelle). The show was performed throughout the entire weekend, and the cast made their final bow last night. I’m glad they did this so Jennifer Holliday can finally go sit her bitter ass down somewhere LMAO. Y’all know she had to be the “last one” to play Effie!
It seems like everybody and their mama is biting off of Michael Jackson nowadays. Originally the list included male R&B artists. Now we can add a group of Filipino prisoners to said list. No, really … check out the video above! Who are these people you ask? Over 1,500 CPDRC inmates of the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center, Cebu, Philippines at practice! Yeah, you read it right. This NOT the final routine. They did a pretty damn good job if you ask me! My favorite part is the dude in the high heels with alopecia. Classic! My question is who the hell came up with this idea, and how long did it take to choreograph? LMAO
A lot of people were asking about this video with Ciara on 106 & Park recently, I finally found the footage, so I decided to post it for you all! Let me elaborate a little on the video, Ciara, TIP, Young Jock & Lloyd sit down on the couch with Terrence J and Rocsi to talk about the one Scream tour I’m thinking about attending, Screamfest ‘07. All the Scream tour boys leave, Terrence and Rocsi try and pull some answers out of C C as to why she was sitting by 50 Cent at the BET awards (are you dating?), why she was practically nekkid in a video with the rapper and what’s with “25″? I’ll go ahead and spoil one of questions, when asked is she in fact dating 50, Ciara just evasively replied, “we’re just friends” and smiled … suuuure Ciara! Oh, she also talks about modeling with Lady Rocawear - you can watch her “I Will Not Lose” interview/ ad after the cut! CONTINUE READING
Blitz McBain, a 19 year-old out of downtown Manhattan, is best known for his multiple flows and creative side. With influences Jay-Z, Prince, and Kanye West, the man is not afraid to spark controversy. He first established a name in the New York hip-hop scene at the age of twelve when he involved himself in the music industry-related work of his uncle. With clever lines and street-ridden beats, Blitz consistently brings something fresh to the game. He focuses primarily on the music aspect of his career. “I have to stay clean,” he tells us in a downtown coffee shop. “I’m basing everything on what [my uncle] did wrong. He had an ego problem and a drinking problem. Liver problems prevented him from ever taking the spotlight as a major rapper.” The name Blitz, as you may already know, originates from the popular video game NFL Blitz. “When I used to fight, I would come with aggression. That’s how I got the name. And it stuck.” Blitz is now putting every second he has into his up-and-coming album, Look At Me Now. When asked his favorite song off the album, he replies, “My favorite song is ‘Comfort Me’. It takes place in the afterlife and how I think it’s gonna’ be once I die- like being an angel looking down on the world as somebody dies.”
Ugh, what happen to “Rehab”? Well, maybe this will go well with her R&B fans since they didn’t appreciate the latter “Shut Up And Drive” as much - go figure. I swear there’s an “Applause” sign in the studio cause the audience be clapping all late and shit.
Did yall hear about the interview with hot97 and bow wow.. Well make a long story short.. Bow wow was dissin ciara and 50 and 50 was in the buildin of Hot 97 heard what bow wow was sayin. Chris Brown » “Let Me Take You Down” » LISTEN » (Snippet) » Now, before all you horny-ASS girls (and some guys) go crazy and jump me in the parking lot for this song - it is not the full version - merely a snippet. However, this snippet is considerably longer (1:41 to be exact) than the 15 second one floating around; it starts at the very beginning, goes through the hook and fades out approaching the second verse leaving more than enough time for you to soak it in. This should hold you over while I beg my friend DOMINQUE for the full, I ain’t too proud to beg.
Sean Kingston » “Got No Shorty” » LISTEN » (Full) » So far, I’m digging all the recent material from Sean Kingston. Here, he returns with a revised version of “Dracula’s Wedding” in my opinion; the track is very Andre3000esque to say the least … or maybe I’m just a crazed Outkast stalker. Sidenote: The Love Below=classic! CONTINUE READING
