THE GUYS FROM MTV’S MAKING THE BAND 4 POSE FOR SEAN JOHN // PHOTOS COURTESY OF MTV.COM
BRIAN A. » MIKE » WILLIE » ROBERT » QWANELL
As you probably already know by now (especially if you checked out our live coverage last night) Diddy finally picked the band! He upped the number from 4 to 5, and selected the 5 guys above. Donnie’s missing from the group, but he will still be a part of the Bad Boy family as a solo artist. I can’t wait to see these guys take over the industry. With the right promotion, backing, and support from fans, these 5 guys will succeed. There’s no doubt in my mind.
Now, you know our boy Jeff was at MTV studios with the guys last night and one of T2W’s official photographers grabbed a ton of EXCLUSIVE photos for us. You won’t find these ANYWHERE else online! Check them out below and after the cut. And if that wasn’t enough, Jeff is planning on having an exclusive sit-down interview with Diddy and the guys this weekend. Be on the look-out for it!
Here R&B singer Rihanna covers the September - October 2007 Edition of Seventeen Magazine - GET IT RI! I forgot to mention it’s Seventeen in Asia only. CLICK HERE to take a behind the scenes look at the photo shoot! Click after the cut to see the US copy with Ashlee Simpson on the cover! CONTINUE READING

“Shoe Fanatic” is the rumored first single of group Cherish’s sophomore project. Hmm, I think this is even more mediocre than “Get Me Bodied”. Well, no I actually like that song, this reminds me of Destiny’s Child seven years ago. I know a few years from now, they going to be like, “WTF were we thinking?!”
M.I.A. » “What I Got” » LISTEN » (Full) » This is a (Japanese Edition) bonus track, there were actually a couple more but I favor this one, from M.I.A.’s latest album, Kala, in stores and online right now! The track was produced by Blaqstarr.
Eve feat. Mashonda » “Dance Floor” » LISTEN » (Full) » This is a leaked track from Eve’s forthcoming album, Here I Am, which was apparently pushed back to October 16th. “Dance Floor” features R&B singer Mashonda and production by Neo Da Matrix who has worked with the likes of Swizz Beatz, Fabolous and Rihanna (all recent projects). Some say that this will not be included on the album, some say different.
T-Pain feat. Shawnna + Teddy Verseti » “Church” » LISTEN » (Full) » “Church” is the name of T-Pain’s third single from the album Epiphany, peep the album review I did HERE, the song features Shawnna and T-Pain’s “alter ego” Teddy Verseti. I recently spotted an IMAGE via T-Pain’s MYSPACE :sigh: I’m hoping that this isn’t from the video . . . but knowing his silly but.
Alicia Keys » “No One” » LISTEN » (Snippet) » This is actually a snippet of a brand new track entitled “No One” by Alicia Keys. The song is straight off the singer’s forthcoming album As I Am in stores November 13th! I can’t really say to much, because it’s just a snippet, but I’m already getting ghost bumps from it! How on earth does this woman put so much feeling into her music? Amazing. Credit: ALICIA KEYS ONLINE

To our loyal readers, thanks so much for sticking with us this past week! You probably noticed how often we urhm .. “updated” .. and once again, I offer my sincerest apologies. But it’s a new week! And we’re back in full effect. But this particular post is going to run down all of the biggest headlines from last week. You know, the stuff we missed . . .
KANYE WEST APPOINTS HIMSELF AS JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE’S OFFICIAL TIP-RIDER »
KANYE WEST PERFORMING ON BET’S 106 & PARK // PHOTO BY BRAD BARKET
“My biggest inspiration and biggest competition is Justin Timberlake,” the 29-year-old rapper tells XXL Magazine October 2007, on newsstands Sept. 11. “He’s the only other person that gets an across-the-board response and respect level - black radio, white radio.
“If Justin hadn’t come out and killed the game, I can’t say that my album, singles and videos would be on the same level that they’re on,” he says. “We push each other. I look at me and Justin like Prince and Michael Jackson in their day.”
Out of all the people to look up to, Kanye. You pick Justin Timberlake? C’mon homie! You would’ve been better off with the overly generic “Stevie Wonder” or “Luther Vandross” answers!
RUSSELL SIMMONS LAUNCHING FASHION LINE FOR OVER 25 CROWD »

Russell Simmons is kicking off this year’s Fall fashion season with Russell Simmons Argyle Culture, a new menswear collection aimed at the over-25 crowd. The collection combines urban aesthetics with professional and preppy attires and is smaller in fit.
“Were going to infuse fashion into Argyle Culture through color, texture and subtle details,” said Kevin Saer, VP of design. “We’re taking houndstooth and herringbone, and identifying with argyle. We’re actually weaving specific fabrics like argyle herringbone and argyle houndstooth. There are a huge group of consumers who are not young men any longer and don’t shop in the young men’s space,” adds Simmons, “but, still want to remain part of the urban lifestyle.”
Among other pieces, Argyle Culture features a classic five-pocket denim silhouette recreated through suiting materials like wool, cotton blends and pinstripes. Simmons also founded urban fashion line Phat Farm in 1992. [ BILLBOARD.BIZ ] CONTINUE READING

When Screamfest ‘07 hit NYC last week (Wednesday August 22 2007) they didn’t hold anything back! In addition to the headliners and supporting acts (I’m sure you know who they are by now), you had the likes of 50 Cent, Kanye West, and Jay-Z sharing the same stage! Yeah, you read it correctly … Kanye West and 50 Cent. A HISTORIC MOMENT in Hip-Hop indeed! Diddy, Da Brat, Wyclef Jean, and Yung Berg showed up too. I wish I could’ve been there!
SIDENOTE: I wonder how many “damn you’re late” comments I’m going to get! I still have love for y’all though! Haha.
Well like it or not Beyoncé will be releasing yet another album, she’ll be going back to in the studio this Fall, watch the video above! :gets ready for Alicia’s album:

This is Amy Winehouse’s new single, “My Tears Dry On Their Own.” Another great masterpiece by DAVID LACHAPELLE, the video wasn’t what expected it to be at all, just the overall bluntness of it made me dig the song even more (strange I know). On a positive note, despite from ALLTHEDRAMA that regular-everyday-people go through (although not in the spotlight), I still wish you the best Amy!

Contemporary R&B musician and Songwriter Emily King reigns on East Side Story, her debut album set to release August 28th of next week. With a broad gain of musical influences, ranging from The Beatles, Nas and Michael Jackson, King has always had a deep-routed passion and love for music; using it as her emotional comforter. At the age of sixteen she got her GED, starting composing, and quickly immersed herself towards her goal.
Emily King then reached out to Chucky Thompson, a music producer, he was the member of Bad Boy Entertainment’s famed Hitman studio team. Thompson signed King to the production company, eventually landing her a major recording contract with J Records, they then began searching for the right sound to capture the songstress’ eclectic tastes and styles. King insists that she isn’t trying fit into anyone’s box, “I’m just finding my own culture within myself,” she explains.
I believe that there is great true to that statement, because conceptually, this album is stark brilliance! It almost brings you back to that genuine R&B/Hip-hop feel, as Ms. Hill revolutionized with all of her projects, with joints like “Business Man”. King also tears up this amazing cover of Bill Withers’ “Ain’t No Sunshine” - absolutely amazing! To know more info on this gifted soul please visit EMILY KING’S MYSPACE or the singer’s OFFICIAL WEBSITE; spread the word peeps!
