It’s a damn shame that some black blogs aren’t promoting/pushing Lupe Fiasco’s project. I love this song, “Dumb It Down,” from the upcoming album THE COOL. Basically, the song is saying y’all like dumb shit. I’m not saying names but anybody can pick five set of synonyms and rap continuously about dumb shit. And some people will relate to it, because they are dumb. Thus people like Common, Lupe Fiasco, and Kanye West getting looked at stupid - because their lyrics are too complex and not dumb enough so it goes past dumb peoples heads. LOL, it’s sad, but true… now say I’m lying! The saddest part about this is it probably won’t get any radio/tv play. Well, I commend Lupe for not dumbing it down, although he probably would’ve sold more records…

Trey Songz reigns on Trey Day! Equally up to par as his debut album, I Gotta Make It, if not greater! The album starts off with this amazing introduction from Bun B, of UGK, followed by a suit of sonic sounds and vast harmonies; Trey introduces a different side of him prior to I Gotta Make It, a combination of rapping and singing, with songs like “Long Gone Missin’”, the smash single “Wonder Woman” (produced by Danja) and, my favorite, “No Clothes On”. =D
Now, halfway into the album, it takes a more slow and seductive route with songs like “Sex For Yo Stereo,” “Last Time,” “Can’t Help But Wait,” and “Grub On”. The album next goes up tempo with “Fly Together,” another favorite of mine, featuring Jim Jones. Next is “Store Run,” a nice melodic Dre & Vidal production. This song I really like though, “Missin’ You,” mainly because it’s a Stargate production - I knew it, like the back of my hand, you can totally tell from jump! Anyway the album makes its culmination with “Role Play” and the Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis production “We Should Be”.
BOTTOM LINE: Overall the album has a lot of variety compared to I Gotta Make It, I see more growth and uniqueness with harmonies, it’s just a real smooth R&B album - it’ll be a nice gift for your guy’s birthday or whatever. Mary J. Blige does it again with this song, “Just Fine,” the first single lifted from her forthcoming studio album Growing Pains. The track was produced by Jazze Pha and Tricky Stewart, who is also responsible for Rihanna’s “Umbrella,” I think it’s a nice, feel good joint just like Mary said. I don’t know what it is, but I get Michael and Janet listening to this, that’s a good thing though! I love them - that’ll be so dope if Mary can get them on the remix! Forreal, how dope would that be?
My apologies for the pause in posts the past couple of weeks. I’ve been working on passing on ownership to another site I run since the end of August, and now I can gladly say that Think2wice is now my main priority! She’s expecting her first child with her boyfriend, Gabriel Aubry, whom is white. Recently, she received sickening letters from an anonymous person who has threatened to “chop her baby into one hundred pieces.” The threats, which were sent directly to Berry’s home in LA, are being investigated by police and the star has decided to pay for her own protection. “Halle does not normally use security,” the source says, “but she has taken on a couple of guys to make sure nothing happens.” If she had just had her baby by me, all of this could have been avoided! But all jokes aside, that’s some crazy mess right there…

The PDD-produced track, entitled “Tell Me,” features R&B crooners Chris Brown and Mario. Although I think having a rapper and two singers on this type of track is highly unnecessary, surprisingly, I’m feelin’ it! Besides, this will be a great look for Chris, he can learned from Mario’s experience; and grow as an upcoming R&B singer himself. And I still think that Chris’ label should have released his forthcoming album the same time as Mario, just to play with it and see, you know? Beyoncé » “Until The End Of Time (Remix)” » LISTEN » (Full) » Sorry for posting this again, but I passed out last night and when I woke up I had this terrible headache so, when I posted the song - it was sort of “rushed” and I couldn’t elaborate as much as I wanted to. This is the official remix, featuring Beyoncé, to Justin’s “Until The End Of Time”. You know, I loved the original, but I’m feeling the remix a little more so. I felt a sudden warmth, I mean, the vibratos matched perfectly; there were no jumps, skips, etc. in the song, with Beyoncé singing onto a pre-recorded track, the continuity was rare.

THIS DUDE JUST GETS RICHER AND RICHER! » Def Jam CEO Jay-Z, who’s also a co-owner of NBA’s New Jersey Nets, is making a bid to rename and rebrand the Continental Airlines Arena with his Rocawear Clothing line. According to various reports, Sean Carter himself is attempting to buy out the arena name since the Continental Airlines naming-rights contract recently expired. The airline relinquished their contract once the NHL Devils (another “home team” in addition to the Nets) announced plans to build a new stadium in Newark, NJ. Clothing lines Izod and Southpole are also in talks to gain the naming-rights.
“We’re looking forward to presentations by bidders next week and then we’ll get into the process of evaluation,” says New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority president George Zoffinger. “I’m optimistic that we’ll be able to over-achieve the current financial deal that we [had] with Continental.”

The 41-year-old convicted rapist admitted to being impaired when stopped while driving erratically last December after leaving Scottsdale’s Pussycat Lounge.
