Chris is very aware of the sophomore jinx, that is why the album is called “Exclusive”, meaning that it is for his TRUE fans only. As for the album being pushed back, and the music considered by some to be not up to par….. I donot think that all of the blame lies on him, he is trying to keep his younger fans who played a huge part in him being where he is now,( and it would not be wise to alienate) while reaching out to a mature audience; that is not EASY, the fans too are playing a big part in his music not getting the air play that it should because they are downloading it or getting it on YOU TUBE and other outlets and are playing the music sooooo much that they get tired of it., I know for a Fact that “KISS KISS” has been favorited WELL OVER 12′000 times and watched WELL OVER 1000 000 times, and most if not all of the comments have been favorable.
Give him and his label a chance, I think…no believe his album is going to be a huge hit and he will continue to grow and continue to blow away audiences in the present ands the future. He has a very special essence in and surrounding him that will not be dimmed. He’s isn’t going anywhere but up.

I agree and disagree with this. I agree about the music. All of the new songs are just basically like, “I’m 18 now, let’s have sex.” I don’t see the maturity at all. And hearing songs early have nothing to do with it, most artists leak their own songs early to get feedback, and most artist leak their albums months (sometimes a year) ahead and they still go platinum. Chris is just losing his fans that’s all … and his label isn’t promoting him correcting … don’t blame it on ppl getting songs early cos that isn’t in their hands - labels fault.

Nor is it even on iTunes. The single is great. It’s #1 on 106 and park but what about the Billboards charts and those other charts? What peak has it reached without radio play?

Ok..so here is my input…I think that the release date is so wrong for him….I feel like the aniticipation for it is dying down as more of his songs get leaked, when I first heard he was coming back for a new album, I was like hell yeah, I’m definitely getting that, but everytime it gets pushed back and songs get leaked, anticipation dies down. As far as Jay-Z and Nas being competiton for them, I can see that, but on the other hand, Chris has a gang of girls on his side that those two may not have. When I became a fan of Chris I thought that he needed to be looked after more. It was little things, like updating websites, more background info etc etc. It seems to me that the Label/ Management didnt know he was going to be as big as he is. I really believe that… especially as it was said that the record company didnt know he could dance until his first video. How can you sell somebody if you dont know EVERYTHING that that person has to offer?… I think he is supremely talented, he’s probably one of the best, singing and dancing wise, and I do feel that his individuality was the very thing that made people love him in the first place.

I do agree that his people need to step up a little bit, but do think that the album maybe held back because they want to make it better… make it better for his fans, his real fans anyway.
The songs i’ve heard so far are great, and if you listen to his lyrics, he has grown up a bit, remember he’s only 18 it’s not like he’s fully grown up, it’s only 2 years. I think if the record company play on his individuality a lot more ie; he’s a bit of a rebel, but an angel too. Make sure all the admin is set up properly so his fans can get at his singles, and keep plugging him he’ll be fine. Also it would be good to see him branch out musically, and come back hotter than before. At the moment they seem to be following the safe route, the tried and tested techniques that have worked for Usher, Omarion etc etc, but really wont work for him because when he dropped he had the 90’s thing… he was a lot more original.
I dont really see other artists who wear t-shirts that say ‘I love my fans’ so he does care about what you have to say. He’s got alot of fans to cater for, and thats a good thing! The record company just need to look after him like the quality artist he is… I still got real love for him anyways

I really am a fan of Chris and love the album he did last time. But what your saying is SOO true i mean its bad enough that Wall to Wall didn’t do good on the charts in th U.S and even bad here in the U.K. It doesn’t help that people aren’t giving him the right ideas for this album and Chris did really work hrd for this aswell. Some people are just supporting his ideas just because he’s “Chris Brown” which really annoys me because I know that he can be such a great artist. But the way he and his album is going right now your right he may be a flop especially with artists like Celine Dion and Jay-Z that releasing albums that same day!! he should either have released it earlier this year or early next year. And I’m not blaming Chris for this Jive should have been more prepared for this!!

Well Jive isn’t the most reliable label in the world. They’re always making terrible decisions, however, I think they’ve done a good job with this project so far. Everyone’s complaining about Jay-Z coming out the same day as Chris, but Chris’ debut album outsold Jay-Z’s last album. Longevity is more important than first week sales, and I think it would be pretty stupid to push the album back to December or ‘08. With holiday sales coming up, Chris album sales will hold up, which is part of the reason I think they pushed it back.

I do think some of you need to calm down. He said he isn’t hating on Chris. It’s just his opinion. He’s not trying to “bring Chris down.”

Hell this year Beyonce’s B-Day album was mediocre but they played her songs like it was the flyest crap out, Jay-z’s kingdom come album was mediocre, pretty ricky’s red light special album, Monica’s album, Bow wow’s unleashed album, Ciars Evolution album, Kelly Rowland’s album hell I could go on.

I think Wall to Wall and Kiss Kiss aren’t geting played because people are so focused on the sophmore jinx thing, so it’s like a domino affect, hell if one person ain’t feeling it then another person ain’t feeling and so on and so on.
I gurantee you if some other male RnB artist would’ve made “Kiss Kiss” and “Wall to Wall” the response would’ve been way different.

What people have to understand is as someone already stated above it’s hard for a young artist to come in the music industry young ,gain a young fan base, grow within his time span as a artist, try to pull in his older fan base who’s now noticing him, but try to satisfy his younger crowd by not making music that’s too adult for his young fans, and at the same time he can’t be making bubble gum records for his older fans.

Sure he may still be respected by many, but he might be left out in the cold this time around. Hey, I’m sure they put out that Album Cover to see what the fans think, they actually put out a poll so fans could choose what his next song would be a while ago. From what I saw from the poll, most people were voting for “Take U Down”. But they chose “Kiss Kiss” instead.
So maybe Take You Down is the single to re-launch him, to make people buy his album and such. Tiffany, I think Chris Brown’s fans care about him, which is why their pushing for him to give out better. Every artist needs loyal fans and critical ones, the critical ones come with the truth, while the loyal follow them whatever their putting out… no matter what. None of what Mike said make me think ‘hater’.
I think now’s the time to show how loyal you fan’s really are, if they go ahead with a Novemeber release date, then it’s up to you to go out there and make sure he’s more successful, he may not out sell Jay Z and Celion Dion. That’s HIS challenge, not yours, your job is to be the best fans ever,- you gotta have unshakable faith.
The issue about the album cover and release date is about addressing Jive records and their management of Chris, they could do better, but if were still talking about him then their doing their job, no matter how ish that’s turning out to be.

ps: If you look at the album cover you can tell it’s a mock up, that’s why it doesnt look as great as it should. Another thing, if you dont hear Chris’s songs on the radio, you should try requesting them lol - that’s usually how artists get songs played, and radio DJ’s arent psychic you need to let them know. Nope Ashley I disagree, because has gained alot of new fans also. If you go to Youtube, myspacetv, or on his myspace page or websites and read some of the comments under his video he’s getting much love now. Some of it do to the vma performance. It’s people saying they didn’t even know who Chris was until he blazed the vmas this year, now people are tuning in to who he is. It’s people who are just now hearing “Wall to Wall” after finding out who he is and are just now liking the song after it has been out since June, asking when did he make the video. If the vma were earlier and since people are now finding out (mostly the older generation) who Chris is, and if he released “Wall to Wall” afterwards I guarantee you his singles would’ve done better than they are now. But “Kiss Kiss is doing fairly well, a ton of people are feeling this track even his haters lol. Some people even say they bump it everyday before they leave home, he even has a few gangstas and old folks calling the song pimpish and hot, lol.

And I’m sure with a few more requests he’ll be just fine. Alot of people who come on to his myspace page actually are anticipating his new album more than they did the first. Just wait till he makes the “Take You down” joint and you know alot of people have been begging for the entire song, so you know that’s gonna be a plus, because it’s getting cooler outside and you know slow ballads are what’s in when it’s around this time of the year.
