Usher ft. Young Jeezy - ‘Love In This Club (Radio Edit)’ - page link - I really love this song! Hell, I’ve loved all of the recent material I’ve heard so far from Usher, even the sonic-hit ‘Dat Girl Right There’ with Ludacris. Though I think ‘LITC’ was a more better single choice. And I guess the rumors about Usher releasing his album in 2009 are FALSE, according to MTV News, we all can expect a video to be shot soon. So hopefully we can also expect a Spring 2008 release on Usher’s new LP.
Nicole Scherzinger - ‘Happily Never After’ - page link - Irony. This is said to be Nicole Scherzinger’s 4th single from her yet-to-be-release album Her Name Is Nicole (Interscope). It seems as though Scherzinger’s people are ‘grasping at straws hits’ now, and I don’t blame them, seeing how subpar all of her previous singles have done on the charts, as opposed to Scherzinger’s moderate success with the PCD. Well, I suppose I’ll add my commentary on the song now . . . I find it kind of blah, or boring, the lyrics and production are definitely on point (courtesy of Ne-Yo) but it’s lacking something to me.
Ashlee Simpson ft. Tom Higgens - ‘Little Miss Obsessive’ - page link - This is said to be Ashlee Simpson’s second single from the album Bittersweet Word (Geffen) set to be released mid-Spring 2008. ‘Little Miss Obsessive’ features Plain White Tees’ Tom Higgens. The single, much less with ‘Outta My Head’, has more of the mid-tempo pop rock sound Simpson is most famous for. I like ‘Outta Myy Head’, it’s catchy, but so not her sound. Though she did say it was a ‘fun’ little song that was ‘personal’. Me no likey. I want that ‘Little Miss Obsessive’ Ashlee Simpson: pop rock.
Karina Pasian - Slow Motion - page link - I have seriously underestimated this young lady, named Karina Pasian, bb! I am loving all the material I’ve heard so far from her. I heard she been rolling with Def Jam for a minute which is questionable. I think Pasian has a lot of talent and charisma to offer! I hope to be hearing more from her in the future is all I’m saying . . .

TANK ARRESTED, AND TASERED, IN NEW ORLEANS » R&B singer Tank (real name: Durrell Babbs) was arrested after being subdued by a Taser when he tried to walk through a crime scene in the hours after a basketball game, New Orleans police said. The “Please Don’t Go” singer was arrested around 2 A.M. Monday morning (Feb. 18th) in an area of the French Quarter where gunfire had been reported about an hour earlier, Sgt. Joe Narcisse said. Three people received non-life threatening injuries in that incident and no arrests have been made.
Tank, and a lady friend, were leaving a club, and walking to meet their driver when they encountered the police roadblock. According to an inside source, the police were very rude to the two of them in telling them that they couldn’t walk through the area. Like a gentleman, Tank spoke up for himself and his lady friend, telling the cops they didn’t have to speak to them in the way they did. The two proceeded to walk AWAY from the scene, then out of nowhere 3 cops tackled Tank and began using tasers on him. Tank was booked with public intoxication, interfering with an investigation and disturbing the peace by threats, Sgt. Narcisse said. He was later released on bail.

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are the proud new parents of twins, a boy and a girl, Lopez’s manager told PEOPLE exclusively Friday morning. The babies were born early Friday morning in Long Island, N.Y. The girl was born at 12:12 A.M. and weighed 5 lbs. 7 oz., while the boy followed at 12:23 A.M., weighing 6 lbs even.
“Jennifer and Marc are delighted, thrilled and over the moon,” Lopez’s manager Simon Fields said.
They’re the first children for J.Lo and the fourth and fifth for Marc. Since People were the first to break the story, it’s obvious that they will most likely get the first baby photos, once they are released. Congratulations to the couple!
Maxine Daniels - the 21-year-old woman stuck in the center of R. Kelly’s latest sex scandal, and the daughter of George Daniels, and the step-daughter of Reginia Daniels - has taken her story to the Chicago Sun-Times in an attempt to defend herself and her parents against accusations stated in a press release issued Monday by Kelly’s camp.
“The statement that was issued by R. Kelly’s camp to TMZ, which I interpreted as an attempt to defame Regina and George Daniels, my dad and stepmom, has made it necessary for me to respond to some of those accusations. I take full responsibility for my actions. My stepmother and father didn’t know about my relationship with the singer because I knew and he knew that they wouldn’t approve … so I tried to keep it a secret, but when my stepmother found out about our relationship, she resigned because she felt that Rob had ‘crossed the line’ by dating a girl that he has known since she was 7 years old. My stepmom was not fired for incompetence. She was Rob’s publicist for 14 years and always considered Rob not just a client … but family. And Rob thought of my dad like a father.
I am 21, smart and will be graduating from college this year, but I admit that I was swept up by his charming and generous ways, which I truly regret and have learned from. My brief relationship with Kelly last year ended because my parents were starting to hear rumors that we were together, and I was beginning to feel like it wasn’t a healthy situation, especially with the pain it was causing me and my family. I felt that it just wasn’t right. Also, in reference to my birthday party, which was held last spring, Regina did not push Rob to host the party. We both asked him … and he readily agreed. In response to the same press release on Monday in which a member of Kelly’s camp accused Regina Daniels of seeking “a healthy six-figure settlement from Kelly to go away quietly,” Regina Daniels said: “It sounds good, but it NEVER happened. I never contacted R. Kelly or attempted to contact R. Kelly or anyone in his camp regarding any money or any financial settlement or severance.”
R&B singer Ne-Yo was arrested earlier this week (Tuesday Feb. 19th) in Cobb County, Georgia for speeding! Cops pulled Ne-Yo over after his 2006 Range Rover was clocked at over 100 mph. He was arrested for reckless driving and for not having a valid license. But eff all of that. What the cinnamon apple fudge cake is up with dude’s harline?! Ne-Yo is how old? Not old enough to have a receding hairline like that, I know that much! Maybe he was on his way to Walgreen’s to pick up some Propecia. I’d speed too. I need to stop making jokes though, because all of my uncles (and my dad) lost their hair in their 30s. So I’m screwed…

Here Disturbing Tha Peace’s Bobby Valentino can be heard on his possible new single ‘Sexy Girl’ for his forthcoming third studio album. I admit I was in favor of a couple songs off Bobby V.’s previous album, Special Occasion, even though I found some of the material a little bland for my tastes. ‘Sexy Girl’ is the same in this case, I don’t know what it is with him, his voice is oh so boring at times. But I will - definitely - be checking for him come this album, he doesn’t completely disappoint in my opinion. In other Bobby V. news: isn’t he going to be co-staring with Ciara in that new TBA Broadway movie Mama, I Wanna Sing?
R&B singer Mario will be one of 12 celebrity performers on ABC’s top-rated Dancing with the Stars when it returns in its 6th season premiere March on 17, 2008.
“I’ve never done ballroom dancing, but I’ll be ready. Everywhere I go, I represent my city, Baltimore,” he said. “And coming from a place where success stories for youth are few and far between, I see my involvement in Dancing with the Stars as a chance for me to show millions of viewers what hard work and dedication can accomplish. This is the story of my life. When my manager called me to talk me about being on the show, he knew what my first answer was going to be. But then I came to notice that the show gave viewers a chance to get to know the performer behind the costume - and I liked that. I like the fact that I will be carrying the torch for my generation. And, I also like the fact that I will be doing it with such a diverse and accomplished cast of other performers this year. This is definitely a challenge, but I’ve had challenges all my life. At the end of the day, if you dedicate yourself, there’s nothing you can’t do. This is just another way for me to express myself, and we’re going to be amazing.”

Def Jam’s Karina Pasian is the truth! I wasn’t really checking for her when I heard that ‘With You’ remix a long time ago but after I heard ‘16 At War’ I fell in love! Seeing how The-Dream wrote this song I’m not surprised at all about my immediate liking to it. This song is so relative at today’s age, it also would’ve been a good song for me when I was 16, it really would’ve helped. I think I grew up too fast during that time but then again I’m kinda glad I did. It made me a little smarter and wiser to say the least. Not to say I smoked or anything, but I was pressured so much and then made fun of, even when my mom couldn’t afford namebrand clothing. I still wore namebrand but not every single day like the rest of the kids, I often wondered how they could afford it living in the ghetto (becos I sure as hell couldn’t afford it). But anyway I’m glad I didn’t do any of that, most of the people I went to school with are now dead, in jail, or have babies — so thank God.
