DID I MISS THE MEMO? When did sneakers and dresses become a style?

Stars like D.Woods, Lil Mama, Lilly Allen, and Teyana Taylor have all recently rock’d a new “style.” Dresses with sneakers! Wearing sneakers with a dress has never been hot and hopefully never will! Ladies, please take a GOOD LOOK at the pics below before you plan on taking some inspiration from them. This is definitely a Fashion NO-NO!

Lily Allen had it first and is the ONLY one who knows how to rock it…NEVER do I want to see it…and sometimes the dresses are just ugly [hence D.Woods and Teyana Taylor's dress]

Some people can pull it off, while others look like little hood girls fighting at prom.

Sneakers w/ a dress can be a good look, but none of these sneakers look good w/ a dress. NOT THE BUSINESS!

I depends on how you present yourself and what type of dress u r wearing like maybe a casual dress. Like something that you could wear to school. But the shoes CANNOT be too big or bulky THAT IS DEFINELY A NO NO

i like it! its cute and funky and makes the statement of” i can be cute and girlie and still rock the kicks like a G”. Thats what i get from the look. But again, it not cute if you dont rock it right. I like how D.Woods wore it b/c her shes sneakers are all black(unlike Teyana’s) and it still puts focus on the dress, even though i hate the dress! Lil Mama and Lil y Allen did an “okay” job! Dresses look cute with the right Chucks too. I was gonna wear it to prom, but no sneakers allowed, guess i’ll rock the boots! lol

i think its hot to see the young female celeb rock something like this because its different it gives wearing a dress a twist and if you have a hot peer of sneakers its really going to stand out more. but i personally think only them 4 can pull it off. i also agree with #9.

I think they get it from kids, because women always dress their daughters in cute little dresses with sneakers, not dress shoes.

» COMMENTING DO'S & DON'TS

  • DO: Speak your mind. All of it! We're not like those other blogs who over-moderate comments and delete people's opinions just because they don't agree with what their readers have to say.
  • DO: Stay on topic. If the post is about the BET Awards, don't come in here talking about what you're cooking for dinner or what happened at work today.
  • DON'T: Bash the contributors of this blog. We created this nice place for you, so the least you can do is show us a little respect. It's not cool to bash the commenters either.
  • DON'T: Just post "First!" as a comment and leave it at that. Yes, it's fun being first, and we understand that. But at least post a comment to go along with that. Comments with just that one word in it will be automatically deleted.
  • DON'T: Link to your site, or to other sites, in your comment. If you want to promote your site, the best way to do that would be to purchase some ad space, or resort to the cheaper alternative - request to be added to the blogroll. If you have something that might be of interest to the contributors, e-mail it to us. Don't post it here.
  • DON'T: Be a nuisance, and don't cause unnecessary drama. We can tell the difference between someone just stating their God-honest opinion and someone who has too much free time on their hands.
  • Comment moderation is enabled (to prevent spammers) so it may take a while for your comment to appear. There's no need to submit it twice. If you include more than 2 links in your comment, your comment will AUTOMATICALLY be held for moderation.
