Mar.24.2008 // T.I. Gets Out of the House for Easter

Rapper T.I. was all smiles as he was granted the opportunity to spend Easter Sunday morning with his family at a special service for the holiday sponsored by New Birth Baptist church at the Georgia Dome. According to Sandra Rose, T.I. was very emotional at the service and he took the podium to give a speech on HIV/AIDS and the way it affects our community today, among other things, including forgiveness.

“We’re here to celebrate the death of our Lord and Savior,” Harris said, “he was willing to give his life for us so that we may ask for forgiveness for our sins and be forgiven and saved…no matter how many times we have to ask…or how long it takes to get it right.”

Mar.21.2008 // Spring/Summer Fashion Tips for the Fellas

So … I’m looking at all of these dope sites spotlighting female fashion/designers and doing different features based on this type of theme, as our new fashion editor Kennesha is currently doing. I’m thinking, “wow! This is useful and informative … however, I wish there was a site that would do this for men!” Becos you don’t normally see sites doing that. But then I thought, “hey! Wait a minute … aren’t I apart of a site where I can do that?” So I’m doing it! He he, of course the majority of fashion and editorial posts will be done by Kennesha. I’ll just be contributing from a male’s perspective; maybe do a post every week or so spotlighting some male fashion? I don’t know, to me, I think this would be a good idea and possibly expand a new audience, we get like a six-figure quota of hits every month, not to mention a HUGE percent of our demographics are males, so some guy out there will find this section useful as well.

For Spring/Summer wear you might want to go with cargo khaki, or even fleece, leg-length pants for the beach or doing some sort of sport related activity outdoors. If you’re thinking about going to the movies or enjoying the nightlife you maybe want to go with some lightweight, fitting jeans; not too baggy, not too tight though, and fairly fashionable. Ed Hardy has some nice custom-design denim pants that would be perfect!

Actress Angela Basset is the latest celebrity to get a star added to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The 49-year-old actress was joined by husband Courtney B. Vance, their children and guests Forest Whitaker, Laurence Fishburne and Rick Fox, her co-star in the new film Meet the Browns, out Friday.

Do you ever have one of those days? I woke up and the sun wasn’t really shining but then it burst through the clouds and it was glorious. Hallelujah!” Bassett exclaimed to the crowd at the ceremony for the 2,358th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Anyway, if you are indeed checking for Pharrell’s newest protoge, her debut album From the Planet of Harlem is supposed to drop this Spring, but no definite date has been set.

Mar.19.2008 // Juelz Santana Pleads Not Guilty

Standing by his attorney, David Russo, in a New Jersey municipal court yesterday (Mar. 12th) Dipset rapper Juelz Santana pled not guilty to one count of marijuana possession and one count of possession of penetrating bullets. He was read his rights and ordered to report to criminal case management in Hackensack, NJ within 48 hours, according to a source at the courthouse. This all stems from an incident last week in which the rapper was pulled over and the police found weed, $20,000 in cash, and hollow point bullets in his car.

“He had a whole posse with him, like six men and a woman,” a court clerk said. “I didn’t realize he was so important.” “You should have seen the jewelry on this kid, his jewelry cost more than my house,” she continued. “And he had a matching ring that went with that bracelet. I would have killed for diamonds like that, are you kidding me? I may have to start listening to rap music now.”
