Mariah Carey is on the cover of the UK’s, The Observer Music Monthly. Mariah did an inteview the UK magazine talking about the difficulties of being a celebrity:
“Here’s the thing … as a human being this is a very abnormal state to be in,” Mariah admits “To meet people who have already formed an opinion of who you are prior to meeting you based on the sweeping generalizations that they have read, well, not that it doesn’t happens in other jobs but clearly it happens more in this job..which happens to be a job even though people don’t think of it as a job, but it is…
Former NFL Player and running back for the Chicago Bears and Pittsburgh Steelers, Timothy Ashley Worley was arrested and tasered for a DUI. Once you watch the video above, you’ll realize that Worthy did not deserve to be violently arrested in anyway. I hope this “Justice Seeker” gets serious consequences for his actions. He definitely should’ve thought 2wice.
Hip Hop Group N.E.R.D is on the June 2008 cover of the Source Magazine. Not sure of the actual content of the magazine, but I do know that they are currently touring on the Glow In The Dark Tour with Lupe Fiasco, Rihanna, and Kanye West. Click the following link to see when N.E.R.D. will be in your area.
Whitney Houston and Ray J (pictured above) attended the Hopkins vs. Calzaghe “Battle of The Planet” boxing match in Vegas Saturday night (Apr. 19th). The fight was very close and Joe Calzaghe was declared the winner by split-decision. Bernard Hopkins obviously didn’t agree with the judges’ decision:
“The world knows, the fans know, other than the Brits, know I won this fight,” Hopkins said. “Look at my face. I don’t have any bruises. I busted him up. I hit him with short right hands and I controlled the pace like a true veteran.”
Other photographed celebrities who attended the event include Jay-Z, Tom Jones, and Simon Cowell. Follow the break to check out the rest of the photos!
(Photos: Getty Images) The most valuable player of yesterday afternoon’s game is Pau Gasol. He was definetly on point with his offense and did more than exceptionally well on defense. Gasol had 36 points, 8 assists, 16 rebounds, and 3 blocked shots. L.A. took the victory with a 14-point win (128-114). Kobe Bryant scored 18 points of his total 32 points in the last 8 minutes of the game to make sure they’ll lead the victory. Lamar Odom had 17 points, 14 rebounds, 6 assists. On the opposing team, Carmelo Anthony was MVP out of his teammates scoring 30 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals. Allen Iverson had 30 points as well before he was immediately removed for 2 technical fouls. L.A. Lakers’ MVP of the game, Pau Gasol, said at the end of the game:
“It feels amazing, it feels great. I had a blast out there.” Gausol said, “We did a pretty good job, we can do better. We’re happy with the win, I’m happy with the win. Hopefully there will be many more.”
Musical genius and R&B singer R. Kelly has made a remix to Mariah Carey’s, “Touch My Body”. R. Kelly told us he was “coming back” but only a year ago, Double Up, came out. R. Kelly first single from his upcoming album, 12 Play: Fourth Quarter, is called “Hairbraider”. I wonder if he’s gonna show up on every major remix this year like the last. Mariah Carey’s new album, E=MC2, is in stores now!!!

Looks like the sun has set for the Phoenix Suns, with a domination and victory to the San Antonio Spurs last night. With a final score of (117-115) including the double overtime. Tim Duncan was on fire last night especially because of his unexpected shot behind the 3-point line. Tim Duncan had 40 points and 15 rebounds, Tony Parker had 22 points, Manu Ginobili had 24 points and the winning point/layup with 1.8 seconds left in the second overtime. At the end of the game Duncan made this statement:
“It feels like a finals game,” Duncan said, “It’s the first game of the first series, and we’re going have to muster energy back up”
Stay tuned for more playoff recaps. Game 2 starts Tuesday.
R&B singer and producer Ryan Leslie has posted a new track on his MySpace page. The track is titled Addiction. Cassie is on the record with the chorus vocals. I wouldn’t be surprised if this were to become the second single. Ryan Leslie’s self-titled album, Ryan Leslie (Next Selection), is due in stores June 17th.
(Photos: Getty Images) The NBA Playoffs started today, and LeBron James was determined to prove his worthiness in the first game of the playoffs. The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Washington Wizards by a 7-point win (93 - 86). LeBron had 32 points, Zydrunas Ilgauskas had 22 points and 11 rebounds, Delonte West made four free throws in the final 15.1 seconds to seal Cleveland’s win. Making two tough shot at the very stretch of the game. LeBron played his hardest to prove to Wizards’ shooting guard, DeShawn Stevenson, that he’s not what Stevenson called him [James], “Overrated”.
Body on Me by Nelly is a newly leaked track from the album Brass Knuckles, set to be released June 24, 2008. The song features Akon. I wouldn’t call it single material, per se, but it’s alrite. I’m still loving Party People with Fergie!
Here West-coast rapper The Game, as well as R&B singer Keyshia Cole, can be heard on his new single Pain from his forthcoming album L.A.X. (Los Angeles Times) in all markets June 24th, 2008! I like the song, it’s like a little homage to all the people that paved the way for them, even Keyshia shouts out Mary J. Blige at the end, even though people say she “bites” off of her which is lame! However came up with that word needs to get shot immediately.
i15, a dynamic trio consisting of Das, 21, Castro, 21 and Flash, 23 reppin’ the West-coast, has a new single/video out called Lost In Love, produced by Polo Da Don.
