Shomari Stone and Rap Diva Foxy Brown Relationship?
Jun.02.2008 @ 1:36 PM

I heard a rumor on 99 Jamz that Foxy Brown watched Shomari Stone’s report on CBS and thought he was attractive. She then put him on the album. Isn’t Foxy engaged to someone else? Shomari Stone is a respectful young man. He wouldn’t go on a date with Foxy Brown. He lives in Miami. She lives in Brooklyn. Case closed.

Shomari Stone never met Foxy Brown.

Shomari Stone has never met Foxy Brown. She put him on her album because he broke the story about her arrest. Shomari has a lot of good sources. He’s a good reporter and anchor.

Pretty Foxy: WFOR-CBS4’s Stone, Rodriguez
Posted on Wed, Jun. 04, 2008

C ool dudes: WFOR-CBS4’s Shomari Stone and Eliott Rodriguez. Their voices — audio samples from a CBS4 newscast — are on the title track of rapper Foxy Brown’s latest album, Brooklyn’s Don Diva. The newsmen were reporting on Foxy’s Feb. 16 release from Broward County jail following her arrest in a fight at a Pembroke Pines beauty supply store.

Stone and Rodriguez’s voices pop up in the first few seconds of the first cut. Stone was live at Queen Beauty Supply, providing voice-over for footage of her getting out of North Broward Detention Center. Rodriguez was anchoring.

Stone, heard first, says Foxy ”is led out of jail with her friend escorting her to an awaiting cab.” Then, Rodriguez: ”New video just released within the past several hours shows what led up to the arrest of a popular rap star. Foxy Brown was just released after spending a long night in jail.” Then you hear Foxy.

Stone and Rodriguez are surprised their audio made the album. ”We had no clue,” Stone says. They found out after radio personality Supa Cindy talked about it on her morning show on WEDR 99 JAMZ.

Supa Cindy recognized Stone’s voice on the CD’s promotional copy. ‘I said, `My God, that sounds like Shomari.’ ‘

Koch Records released the album in May — apparently without permission from CBS to use the copyrighted excerpts, available on CBS4’s website. Rodriguez says he’s heard the track, peppered with profanity. “I believe in artistic expression. I just wouldn’t let my kids listen to it.”

Foxy, 29, whose name is Inga Marchand, is on six months’ probation after pleading no contest in April to misdemeanor battery and resisting arrest without violence. Cops say she threw a temper tantrum at the store, hurled a tube of hair glue at an employee and spit on him. Part of the plea deal required her to attend an anger management course.
