(Photos: Getty Images) BET is ready for yet another great award show this year and has released a list of nominees and performers for the upcoming 2008 BET Awards. The nominees and performers were announced live at a press conferenced presented by BET’s 106 & Park. Nelly, Mary J. Blige, Usher, and Lil Wayne are all confirmed as performers for this years’ show, which will go down on June 24th 2008 @ 8 PM.
Usherperformed two tracks from his upcoming album Here I Stand (LaFace). He performed his hit single, “Love In This Club” featuring Young Jeezy, who appeared for the performance. Usher also performed one of the leaked tracks that has recently hit the web, “This Ain’t Sex”. Based on the he few tracks I’ve heard, this should be another big album for Usher. Don’t forget “Here I Stand” in stores May 27th.
JD aka Jermaine Dupri posted a new YouTube video on his official channel celebrating Janet Jackson turning 42. It was a pretty fun night from what I can see! Especially, the recap after the party. I wonder what Janet & JD got planned for the post “party”. Check out the video above.
I felt it can only be right since Janet turned 42 yesterday (May 16). This is a performance from Janet Jackson’s Velvet Rope Tour in 1998 in New York City. I went to this concert in Chicago! I was only 7 at the time. I still love Janet. One of our greatest performer of all time. Happy Birthday Janet!!!
The Cleveland Cavaliers won last night’s game against the Boston Celtics. The Cavs won by 5 (74-69). The series are now tied (3-3). LeBron James got off last night! He scored 32 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Delonte West scored 10 points and 3 rebounds. Zydrunas Ilgauskas totaled 7 points and 10 rebounds. Video reactions after the cut.
Kobe Bryant pushed it to the limit last night as usual!!! The Los Angeles Lakers won the last game of the series between the Utah Jazz(4-2) by 3 (108-105). Kobe Bryant was injured a few games back but could that stop him from getting closer to his ring WITHOUT Shaq…NOT PERIOD! K.B. scored 34 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Pau Gasol totaled 17 points and 13 rebounds. Lamar Odom had 13 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Kobe stated at the final game’s end:
“It’s a big step for us,” Kobe said. “It shows a lot of character on our part to come in here and come out of here with a victory. It’s been a great journey and we want to keep it rolling, it’s a great accomplishment to get to the conference finals, but we believe we can accomplish much more.”
Ne-YoGo-Go (his stage name in the video) like many other stars, got his start by appearing on Showtime at the Apollo. Even though Ne-Yo’s group was basically booed throughout their entire performance, it was cool to see Ne-Yo doing something other than Micheal Jackson inspired dance moves. Former American Idol contestant Corey Clark (Snow) was also spotted.
