Usher and his 8 month old son Usher V grace the cover of the August 2008 issue of Essence Magazine. In this issue Usher talks about marriage, and being a father.

Usher on Fatherhood:

â€œHeâ€™s gonna admire me, heâ€™s gonna look up to me. Heâ€™s gonna say, â€˜I wanna beâ€™ or he should say - â€˜I wanna be like my father.â€

Usher on his Marriage:

â€œThey think that it was forced. Iâ€™ve heard a lot of comments like, â€œOh, she trapped him.â€ â€œHe got a baby by her, and then sheâ€™s married and sheâ€™s set for life.â€ â€œNo. She wasnâ€™t pregnant when I asked her to marry me. Thereâ€™s some sort of huge conspiracy over this, the fact that I made these choices in my life. No I grew older. As a man, I have to take responsibility and take a hold of my life. Iâ€™m accountable for what happens to my life now.â€

The kid looks like more of an accessory, like a handbag or something, than a living breathing boy. Could Usher not have a more fatherly pose that didn’t require himself to be the center of attention? This cover just cracks me up. I will admit it’s quite attractive though.
