But the decision came a little too late, so she’s going to stick to her plan to perform live via satellite from London.

WESLEY SNIPES ACQUITTED OF TAX FRAUD, BUT MAY STILL SERVE TIME » Wesley Snipes was acquitted of tax fraud in a Florida courtroom on Friday, but was convicted of failure to file taxes. Snipes, who was convicted of three misdemeanor counts of failing to file a tax return on his income that amounted to millions of dollars. As he left the court room, he said: “I’m feeling great – a little confused, but great.” When asked if he is worried about going to prison, he replied, “I don’t know. It’s nice to be out here with you right now. We live in the moment.” He was acquitted of two felonies, including conspiracy to commit tax fraud. He was also acquitted of three misdemeanor counts of willful failure to file a tax return. Snipes now faces up to three years in federal prison, which is a lot better than facing a possible 16-year prison sentence, had he been convicted of failure to file taxes.
And speaking of “failure to file taxes,” another celebrity might be in trouble! Word on the sidewalk is that Fat Joe might owe over $150,000 in back taxes to the IRS. CONTINUE READING
Amy’s finally in Rehab, and now it has been confirmed by the New York Daily News that another troubled star is finally getting the help that she needs. Britney Spears, who is rumored to have attempted suicide last night, was committed to a psychiatric ward early this morning after it was reported that she was “driving around her neighborhood like a mad woman” last night and refused to take her meds.
The drama went down around 4 a.m. New York time when cops on motorbikes and a fire department ambulance rushed onto the grounds of Spears’ gated Studio City mansion. Once inside, Britney is said to have gone easily, without a struggle. “The package is on the way,” cops radioed once Spears was in hand, the Times reported. People.com reported that Spears’ mom, Lynne, friend Alli Sims, manager Osama Lufti were all there and The Times said that cops were called in by Spears’ psychiatrist. What followed was a made-for-paparazzi spectacle: the international superstar was escorted down Coldwater Canyon Boulevard by a dozen motorcycle cops, two squad cars - and two police helicopters!
The Times reported that the line of emergency vehicles “stretched longer than a football field.” There have been several reports that Britney’s family was looking to get her intensive psychological help, perhaps by holding an intervention. It seems as her family pulled the trigger on the plan to get her help after her latest bizarre behavior. “She was driving around her neighborhood like a mad-woman,” says a Spears family source. “Britney has been prescribed medication which she refuses to take. This is just another sad, sad evening.” Initially, several tabloid news websites widely reported Spears, 26, had killed herself - something that was later denied by Lutfi and Sims, People.com reported.
The singer was committed by her family and Lutfi on what is known as a 5150 in California - a law that allows someone to be held against their will if they’re found to be a danger to themselves or others because of a mental illness. That was the same reason used to get Spears committed to the mental ward at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center earlier this month after her standoff with cops over her two kids. Lutfi told ABC’s Barbara Walters that Spears has been unable to sleep and is distraughtbecause she can’tsee her tots - Jayden James, 1, and Sean Preston, 2. A judge has granted ex-husband Kevin Federline temporary full custody of the two and demanded Britney get psychological help. “There is no question she is bipolar… she’s had manic episodes for years,” a source told People.
Will this help her? I guess, as usual, we’ll just have to wait and see…

Pop singer Britney Spears kicked off the year 2008 in a way that she, and only she, can. If you remember correctly, she earned a spot at the top of our celebrities who failed to “Think2wice” in 2007 list, and it appears like she might make the top spot for this year too!
Police were called to Britney Spears’ home Thursday night in a custodial dispute that lasted nearly three hours before an intoxicated Spears reportedly turned over her children to ex-husband Kevin Federline. Officers were called to the home around 8 p.m., and the 26-year-old singer turned over the children around 10:50 p.m., Officer Jason Lee, a police spokesman, told City News Service. Aerial footage from KTLA-TV showed Spears being lifted in a gurney into an ambulance. It was unclear where she was being taken. Lee said Spears was under the influence of an unknown substance, and no injuries were reported.
The incident involved a family dispute that police worked to resolve “peacefully by court order,” he said. An Associated Press photographer outside the gated community that includes Spears’ house saw six police cars, an ambulance and a fire truck enter around 10:30 p.m. A dispatcher with the fire department referred calls to the police department. Spears and Federline are fighting over custody of their sons, 2-year-old Sean Preston and 1-year-old Jayden James. Federline, 29, has temporary custody of the children because Spears, who has limited visitation rights, has defied court orders. The two were married in October 2004 and divorced in July. I did not want to post any leaked material before, like everyone else, because I was assured they were all incomplete for the simple fact they were not mastered. So I relapsed and was pleasantly surprised after hearing the retail. Britney fans can expect a host of new material added! ;-)
Now, on the the album review! I heard a lot of stellar Dance-pop and Club variations — thanks to Danja (love his work), Bloodshy & Avant, Sean Garrett, and The Clutch! Although some of Sean’s arrangements are a tad bit questionable (he can not write for crap, I am sorry.) I have not many cons to rant on and on about … I will save that for Cassie’s album (KIDDING!). Overall Blackout is FUN and lively! I was nodding and shaking … thank God I do not dance in public! Ha ha, but forreal, the music ultimately moves you in the beginning, then it sort of culminates with Downbeat (that would only be a few songs - rest of the album goes HARD in the club!). In conclusion it all boils down to whether you are a true fan of the Pop superstar — would I recommend it as a solid buy? Of course … I am a Britney Spears fan! :-)

Britney Spears reported to a Los Angeles-area police station Monday night to be booked in connection with two minor fender-benders. Spears breezed in the front doors the station in the Los Angeles suburb of Van Nuys around 9 p.m. Monday, after declining an offer to sneak in through the back. Hiding a case of pinkeye (ew!), she spent between 30 and 45 minutes getting booked. You know, the usual. Getting her mugshots, fingerprints, etc. “She was fine, cooperative,” said LAPD officer Mike Lopez. “She did her business and came out.” Spears’ appearance at the station was a prelude to an October 25 court date on charges she bumped up against another car while turning into a spot in a Studio City parking lot on August 6. Spears checked out the damage before heading into an adjacent buidling. Unfortunately for Britney, the paparazzi caught the whole thing on camera. I’m sure you’ve seen it all over the net and on TV. BRITNEY MIGHT HAVE TO START PAYING CH-SUP! » For all of you out there scratching your heads wondering wtf “ch-sup” is … it’s short for child support! Lol. Anyhow, if you’ve been living on planet earth the past few weeks, you’ll know that Britney Spears and Kevin Federline have been a part of a nasty custody battle. Fortunately for Kevin, and unfortunately for Britney, custody of their two sons, Preston and Jaden, was granted to their father, Kevin Federline. Commissioner Scott M. Gordon did not say why he took the action or say how long Spears would be denied custody. But two weeks ago, he said there was evidence that Spears was “a habitual, frequent and continuous” user of drugs and alcohol. He ordered her to submit to twice-weekly drug and alcohol testing, undergo co-counseling with Federline and receive parent coaching. The parental coach was ordered to report back to the court later this month, ahead of a November 26th court date. So … does that mean Kevin will be getting child support from Brit?? Damn!
