(J Records), which is in stores now - I highly recommend you buy this album! I think the single is gold, really every song from that album I find single-material. The song is really subtle with melodies and harmonies, it’s “whip-listenable,” as well as pleasurable, in my opinion.
Chris Brown ft. Will.i.am » “Picture Perfect” » LISTEN » (Full) » “Picture Perfect” featuring domestic-producer Will.i.am will be Chris Brown’s forth single from Exclusive (Jive). It’s interesting they’re making this a single; Chris Brown co-produced it. “PP” took me a minute to get into, it wasn’t my immediate favorite when I first heard Exclusive, but I’m feeling it now! I can’t wait to see how this plays out, with the promotion, video, etc.
Fergie » “Finally” » LISTEN » (Full) » “Finally” will be the final single from Fergie’s 3x’s platinum-album The Dutchess (A&M). The song itself was produced by John Legend, he was the pianist, and also Fergie stated that she would be performing with him at the 50th Grammy Awards. I liked this song a lot listening to Fergie’s album, the song was a nice ballad for her, it really showed her vocal capability nice.
Kanye West ft. Chris Martin » “Homecoming” » LISTEN » (Full) » “Homecoming,” featuring Cold Play’s Chris Martin, will be the fifth single from Kanye West’s 2x’s platinum-album Graduation (Def Jam). Unfortunately the song will only be released in the UK, instead of “Flashing Lights,” which is serving as the fourth single in the rest of the world. I said it once, and I’ll say it again, you UKer’s get everything! Lol. But for real, I really like this song, “Homecoming” has to be the most creative, conceptual song I’ve heard, as far as personification, this great man - is genius!
Rapper Lil’ Mama recently premiered her new joint on 106 & Park today, “Shawty get Loose,” featuring Chris Brown and T-Pain. Once again Michael Jackson, as well as Ms. Janet Jackson, have inspired the young masses of today. Their legend will live on forever, forever … forever.
Earlier this week, a rumor started circulating that Chris Brown and Bow Wow got into a scuffle and it allegedly ended in Bow Wow spitting on Chris. The reason? “Technical difficulties” … as usual. Now, if you remember correctly, not too long ago, Bow Wow threw a temper tantrum that landed him in the hospital because he hurt his hand. That actually turned out to be true, as confirmed by the mini-rapper himself. But according to the first half of “Bowmarion,” this latest rumor holds no truth. This is what he told MTV.com:
“Man, listen,” Bow said via phone while visiting a mall in Tampa, Florida, where he and Brown performed Monday night. “I just got off the phone with Chris. My mom called me and told me about the rumor. I called him and told him, and he started laughing. We was dying [with laughter]. Anybody who knows me or anybody who’s been around me knows I’m not that kind of person,” he continued. “I [felt bad] for New York [reality-TV star Tiffany Pollard] when she got spit on during ‘Flavor of Love.’ A wise man once taught me, the most vicious thing you can do is spit on somebody. It’s just a rumor. It’s a big rumor. I would never do that. That’s not being a man, that’s a sissy act.”
A sissy act, eh? I’m just gonna leave that alone… Lol

Rumors about Rihanna and Chris Brown dating are old, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t resurrect them lol. Rihanna’s got some new (?) ink on the back of her kneck. But I’m not 100% sure if it’s new because with new tattoos, people usually have them bandaged up with a lot of vaseline/grease. But I’ve never seen it before, so it’s definitely new to me. But anyhow, Chris Brown has the same type of tattoo behind his ear. I’m not saying they’re dating or anything, because a lot of people have that ugly ass tattoo. I’m just making an … observation. Don’t mind me ;-)
In other Rihanna/Chris Brown news, the two recently performed the Umbrella Remix together on stage in Nashville the other night, according to Whitney over at Chris Brown Web. Chris Brown, who is currently on tour with Bow Wow, Soulja Boy, and Lil’ Mama in the Up Close and Personal Tour, is gearing up for the release of his first ever Live in Concert DVD to be released later on in the year. The DVD was filmed at the Nashville show.
UPDATE: Rihanna’s tattoo is old. She got it last September. But it still matches Chris Brown’s!
First and foremost I want to say happy 2k8 and that I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays and whatnot. Sorry for the lateness in posts and music, I’ve been so busy with exams and finals, coming into adult life aka “the real world” and stress, you know, the usual.
The Summer of 2007 was definitely a time for Rihanna to shine, with the smash hit of “Umbrella” featuring executive producer/mentor Jay-Z, already having released two previous albums, both 2005’s Music of the Sun and 2006’s A Girl Like Me, one would question if Rihanna is moving too quickly in her natural prime. Although I do admit to actually purchasing and owning two of Rihanna’s album releases, I felt she was rushed into finding a specific identity to stick with, not just for her, but also her label. Needless to say, numbers don’t lie, “Umbrella” was indeed a hit and possibly one of my favourite records from her.
Here’s a clip a reader [THANKS STACY!] sent to me of Chris Brown performing “Take You Down” at the Up Close and Personal tour in Chicago. I guess I have to be a 14-year-old girl to know why these kiddies are screaming frantically. The young lady singing in the audience was killing me softly as I watched the clip though! So the 2007 Movies Rock! show went down last night (December 7th): a night of movies, fashion and music! Performances include Chris Brown, Beyonce, Mary J. Blige and John Legend, Jennifer Hudson, Will.I.Am, Busta Rhymes, LL Cool J and Eve! It looked fun, I’d say my favorite performance would have to be Fergie Ferg with “Live and Let Die” (Guns N’ Roses), she did an amazing job and did that song much justice. Ooh, I also love Usher’s performance of Gene Kelly’s “Singing in the Rain” - great show! Really they ALL did a fantastic job, I’m so proud of everyone! I’m mad I missed it y’all! Chis Brown’s official myspace debuted his brand new video for “With You” today. This makes the third video off of Chris’ new album “Exclusive,” which is currently sitting at #4 on the Billboard 200. I can’t really say I’m feeling the video. It’s kind of boring, but I like the song. What’s your opinion on Chris’ new video?
