The 2007 American Music Awards went down last night at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. The show was telecast live on CBS and featured performances from Fergie, Chris Brown, Beyonce (and Sugarland), Rihanna & Ne-Yo, and more. Winners included Justin Timberlake, T.I., Akon, Rihanna, and Beyonce, who won the most prestigious honor of the night! Beyonce took home the “International Star of the Year” award, an honor only previously given to Michael Jackson, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, and Rod Stewart. This makes her the first female to ever win that award, which was presented by Usher (who fumbled through 95% of it I might add lol — what’s on his mind??). My Chemical Romance » “Mama” » LISTEN » (Full) » The song “Mama” is set to be My Chemical Romance’s fifth single from the 2006 album, The Black Parade. The video for this single, which was directed by the lead singer of the band, Gerard Way, is slated for release sometime later this year. Love MCR, can’t wait for this video, bet it’ll be highly interesting. That Liza Minnelli guest spot was unexpected.

I was shaky on this kind of collaboration, which is like apples and oranges here, but surprisingly, it’s digestible. I love M5 and MJB, so hearing the best of both worlds through my headphones, was ultra sweetness. And you know what, what? I feel this is just perfect, believe it or not. I feel like the tempo is just right and everything just flows so perfectly.
Chris Brown » “This Christmas” » LISTEN » (Full) » Here Chris Brown can be heard doing his own rendition of Hathaway’s “This Christmas” for the film of the same title. I thought I should just go ‘head and post this, since it’s the full quality, and I’m in a cheerful mood, I guess. I don’t know why, but it never really feels like Christmas to me for some reason, I do like this song, though.
Britney Spears » “Piece of Me” » LISTEN » (Full) » I wasn’t too zealous, at first, when I found out “Piece of Me” was going to be the second single when there were so many other great songs to choose from. But now I’ll admit it’s starting to grow on me, subsequently. Besides it’s time that she fight back, so yeah, I’m all for “Piece of Me” now!
America Idol’s very own, Jordin Sparks, releases her eponymous debut effort next week Tuesday (November 20th) as well off of Jive records. The Idol’s album includes some crazy, stellar production from the likes of Stargate, with the first single â€Tattoo,†and The Underdogs.
My, my, my, despite critic’s frivolous claims towards Sparks’ efforts, this album isn’t half bad, for a debut, especially considering how young the Arizona-native actually is. I’m so, so proud of Sparks becos she has come a very long way, for the most part, she gets high praises from me.
Overall this album wasn’t anything I expected, but that doesn’t necessarily make it a bad thing, there was some wicked jams and unordinary downbeats. I don’t think fans, existing or potential, will be disappointed. Some of my favorites are “No Air,†“Freeze,†“Shy Boy,†and “Just For The Recordâ€.

With Chris Brown gearing up for the release of his new movie, “This Christmas,” he re-made the popular Donny Hathaway track (that goes by the same name) for the movie’s soundtrack, and you can check out the video for it above. This is definitely a solid single, courtesy of The Underdogs, the only con I have is she oversings a tad towards the latter. Other than that I think this is a stellar pop ballad that is sure to top the charts almost effortlessly.
Usher feat. Ludacris » “Dat Girl” » LISTEN » (Full) » New material from Usher, say what? Yep, this is said to be a Rich Harrison production. The moment I heard this, I went into several mild seizures. Then it grew on me, tentatively, it’s different. My music tastes are a little weird, I know, but this may be that hit factor Usher needs. Some might disagree (or jump me), yeah, but just imagine if this came on in the club! I’m telling you, let it marinate, it will grow on you too… Look how dangerously big “Yeah” was.
M.I.A> » “Paper Planes” » LISTEN » (Full) » “Paper Planes” is said to be UK rapper M.I.A.’s next single from the critically proclaimed album Kala. Finally, I’m overzealous about how the video might turn out. “Paper Planes” is possibly one of my most songs off of the album Kala.

Will.i.am » “Pick It Up” » LISTEN » (Full) » “Pick It Up” is a new track, featuring producer Will.i.am, that can be found on the Japan re-release of Fergie’s certified double platinum-selling album, The Dutchess. Ooh, I like this! Nice, mellow, guitar driven ballad. Will.i.am was also a nice touch to “Pick It Up,” as he always is.

Oh, n/m it was just reversed lol.

It seems he just gave up with this album, luckily his people have pushed it back ’til next year, which isn’t too bad. Hopefully they will get it right during that time with everything…

Mr. Man-ish himself, Chris Brown, hits us with his latest Exclusive album, which is scheduled for release next month Tuesday (November 6th), it features guest appearances, as well as stellar productions, from the likes of T-Pain, will.i.am, Swizz Beatz, and Timbaland just to name a few.
The album starts off languid with consistent blandness.
I swayed this opinion towards the starting of a luring “You,” which gave off this Prince vibe to me, so ultimately, this was my favorite.
I wasn’t necessarily floored or in awe about the latter … BUT, I still enjoyed the album nonetheless. I was lackadaisical until “I’ll Call Ya,” (after hearing the snippet previously) I was quite interested in hearing the actual full to this, then I relapsed.
Overall Chris Brown’s Exclusive sounded like unmastered kiddie-Pop and not exactly what I semi-predicted. I was really rooting for Chris, I was. But I’m more so looking forward to Face Off at this moment. :SARCASM:
Standout tracks are “You,” “Damage,” “I Wanna Be” and “Down”.
Okay, this is surprisingly digestible - you know what - I’m not even gonna lie. I will admit, I was a little skeptical, about this whole Face Off ordeal at first. But so far, all of the recent material I have heard from these two are gold. It is highly likely this will push at least Gold status; citing how Bow Wow and Omarion’s debut collaboration, “Let Me Hold You,” did the equivalent anyhow. And with solid delivery like that, who can complain?
Being a die-hard Trey Songz fan, he already was the “enabler”. So, in essence, I was ultimately looking forward to this kind of collaboration. Seeing how I am also a Jigga fan as well, I was floored. I have yet to believe such a collaboration is possible. Although with the type of production, backing with Jay’s flow, on this track is nothing to mess with, I kind of felt this continuity going in my mind with Trey’s voice so I was not surprise once he made his brief appearance. Usually [rappers] adding to a Hova’s rap is highly unnecessary and almost seems unfeasible in correlation with the beat. But Trey sort of hung in there and stuck it out with the arrangements - I did not get that vibe at all.
How many videos are they gonna release before the damn album comes out?? Here Chris Brown can be seen on the set of his new video for a song titled “With You.” I guess “Kiss Kiss” didn’t do so well either…
THE ENGAGEMENT IS OFF! » Certified cornball Nick Cannon and Victoria’s Secret model Selita Ebanks have called off their engagement and split up, Ebanks’s rep confirms to PEOPLE exclusively.
Selita and Nick are taking a break to focus on their careers but still very much love each other and remain the best of friends.
The breakup comes just five months after the Drumline actor made a proposal that lit up New York’s Times Square – literally – as he asked Ebanks to marry him with the help of a jumbotron. By August, Cannon, 26, was more measured when it came to nailing down wedding details, telling PEOPLE, “We haven’t really talked about a lot of that stuff. The PDD-produced track, entitled “Tell Me,” features R&B crooners Chris Brown and Mario. Although I think having a rapper and two singers on this type of track is highly unnecessary, surprisingly, I’m feelin’ it! Besides, this will be a great look for Chris, he can learned from Mario’s experience; and grow as an upcoming R&B singer himself. And I still think that Chris’ label should have released his forthcoming album the same time as Mario, just to play with it and see, you know? And fuel a good R&B competition, similiar to like what 50 and Kanye had, rather than releasing him during the most anticipating time in Hip-Hop (Jay-Z and Nas). [ THANKS KEVINNNNNN! ]
