According to Billboard, fans of Gnarls Barkley will have to rely on the likes of Youtube or another online alternative if they want to see their new video for Run. Popular music video station MTV released a statement saying that they will not be airing the video due to its failing of the Harding Test, guidelines established to prevent TV images from triggering epileptic seizures. Apparently the video has way too many strobe effects.
“I don’t know exactly what’s going on, but we’re having issues,” said Danger Mouse, one half of Gnarls Barkley. “I think (the video) is cool. It works for me. But I’m not necessarily that easily seasick. We can’t predict how people are going to interpret it.”
Gnarls’ new album The Odd Couple is set to be released on April 8th. A video for the second single, Who’s Gonna Save My Soul, is scheduled to be shot within the next week or so.
And yes, you read it correctly. Danger Mouse was actually quoted! Click Here to check out the video (at your own risk, of course) if you haven’t done so already…
Gnarls Barkley returns with their sophomore album The Odd Couple (Atlantic), make sure you all pick up your copy April 8th, 2008! I’ve been turned onto Gnarls Barkley’s randomness (good random, though) when I first heard their single ‘Crazy’. Now, I’m extremely random, so soon I knew Gnarls Barkley would ultimately become one of my favourite bands ever. I still bump St. Elsewhere from time to time even now, just like I’ll be with this album soon :)
My current favourite tunes from this album, so far, are ‘Would-Be Killer’, ‘Open Book’, ‘Whatever’, ‘Blind Mary’, ‘Neighbors’ and ‘A Little Better’. If you liked St. Elsewhere you’ll love this album, it’s a little more darker, though; lots of soul and a little bit of funk. I love it long time! You can’t go wrong with GB.
Here is the world premiere video of ‘Run’, the first single from Gnarls Barkley’s forthcoming album The Odd Couple (Atlantic) in stores Spring 2008 - can’t wait! There is a special cameo by Justin Timberlake as a VJ.
The folks responsible for the naming (and slogan) of this blog [1] have some new “promotional photos” (yes, I really did the quote thing with my fingers lol) to support their upcoming album titled “The Odd Couple,” which is due to hit stores April 15th. Their new single run leaked a couple of weeks ago . . .
[1] Oh, you didn’t know? Have you ever taken a listen to “Crazy?” — { …And I hope that you are having the time of your life. But think twice, that’s my only advice } — Yup, the name of this blog was inspired by that line! CONTINUE READING
Yes, new music from Gnarls Barkley, I was getting tired (not really) of listening to S.E.! Gnarls Barkley is one of my most favourite bands ever. I adore them, I do. It’s nice to hear all new material in hopes of a possible upcoming LP. Oh, I rejoice a drowned yay over the sounds of my taping of keys, I’m speaking as I’m typing. The song, “Run,” is so G.B., very uptempo and jubilant. I love it!
