So, I was watching my favourite show in the whole wide world, Family Guy, when I see this infomercial (BeKANYE) come on with none other than Kanye West … I don’t know what Kanye’s promoting, since I ‘cannot’ access the site, but my guess is probably a Viagra Vodka ad? Or some magical pill that, if taken, manifests extraordinary celebrity power upon you in an amount of hours? Either way, the infomercial was really funny, so I thought I’d post it, he he.
Usher performing “In This Club” as the opener for the 2008 BET Awards, which aired last night live from Los Angeles.
The 2008 BET Awards went down last night, and while there were a few lackluster performances (Usher’s being one of them), there were a few memorable, surprising, and exciting moments. One being Alicia Keys’ performance when she brought out SWV, En Vogue, and TLC! Another notable performance of the evening was Ne-Yo’s, where he showed us he can hang with the big dogs when it comes to his dance moves - he even brought out the Jabbawockees (winners of MTV’s America’s Dance Crew). Chris Brown did his thing as well, and surprised everyone when he brought out Ciara. Did Rihanna approve of this beforehand? I’m curious to know. And speaking of Rihanna, did anyone else notice how far she’s come along, as far as her live vocals? I was really impressed when she performed Take A Bow! And last, but most certainly not least, on my list of the best performances of the night, Lil’ Wayne! He kind of scared me towards the end of the show because it seemed like he wasn’t going to come out. The show was already running 15 or 20 minutes over when he was introduced. But he did come out, and he showed us exactly how and why he has sold nearly 1,500,000 copies of Tha Carter: III so far! He started out with Got Money (feat. T-Pain), paid homage to Static Major (R.I.P.) with Lollipop, and ended off his performance with A Millie. He had the whole crowd hyped, and ended off the show perfectly.
While the 2008 BET Awards did have its good moments, much of the show left me with a bitter taste in my mouth. I expected a lot more from Usher. His performance was probably the most hyped up (pre-show), and ended up being one of the absolute worst of the night. While I love Keyshia Cole’s Heaven Sent, she really needs to work on her live vocals … and her stage presence. She had a lot of energy, she just didn’t know how to keep it all together. She looked like she was doing too much to me.
In my opinion, the 2007 BET Awards were much better. The performances, the overall show, and oh yeah … the host! Who the hell approved of D.L. Hughley being the host of this year’s show? I hope they received a pink slip in their box this morning. BRING MO’NIQUE BACK!!!

The spiraled “beef” with Ice-T making a statement about Soulja Boy killing Hip Hop has gotten out and Kanye West has something to say about it. On Kanye’s Blog he just wrote a post about how he felt towards what Ice-T has to say. Kanye West stated:
Soulja boy is fresh ass hell and is actually the true meaning of what hip hop is sposed to be. He came from the hood, made his own beats, made up a new saying, new sound and a new dance with one song. He had all of America rapping this summer. If that ain’t Hip Hop then what is? A bunch of wannabe keep it real rappers that ain’t even relevant, recycling samples trying to act like it’s 96 again and all they do is hate on new shit? Niggas always talk about the golden age but for a 13 year old kid, this is the golden age!!! That song was so dope cause everything he said had a hidden meaning… that’s Nas level shit… he just put it over some steel drums which is also some Nas shit if you had the 2nd album cassette with the bonus track “Silent Murder” on it. In closing… new niggas get ya money$$$$$$$$$$ Keep this shit fresh and original…. ain’t no fuckin’ rules to this shit and that’s what real hip hop is to me.
It seems as though the first video Kanye West first premiered to “Flashing Lights” was only a sneak peek! Here is the 3rd version of this same music video. Kanye is genius! This one is more theatrical like horror film. I wonder where he got the concept to this video. Click play to watch the video. Tell me what ya’ll think!
I just got this in my inbox like 2 minutes ago. After watching it and getting bored within the first minute, I’m glad Kanye went with the first version! This second version is garbage…
Kanye West performed “Everything I Am” but a more freestyle revised one at Casio’s G-Shock 25th Anniversary Celebration in New York. I tell you Kanye is by far one of my favorite artists and he really killed on stage. Ya’ll have to watch this video! Click play to check it out!
I was just browsing some blogs online when I happen to come across Kanye’s latest entry, from his blog, which appears to be a retort to Entertainment Weekly’s tour write-up for Glow In The Dark; they gave it a B+ and apparently it looks like Kanye had some erhm … “colorful” choice of words in regard:
Yo, anybody that’s not a fan; don’t come to my show. For what?! To try and throw ya’ll two cents in? Ya’ll rated my album shitty and now ya’ll come to the show and give it a B+. What’s a B+ mean? I’m an extremist. It’s either pass or fail! A+ or F-! You know what, fuck you and the whole fucking staff!!! I know I shouldn’t dignify this with a comment, but the reviewer threw a jab at all the artists. I just wanna know when was the last time you enjoyed yourself. If you can’t have fun and lose yourself at this tour it’s a good chance you’re a very miserable person. I actually feel sorry for you guys. Your job forces you to not have fun anymore. Grab a drink, holla at some nice girls, and party bitch!! You don’t know shit about passion and art. You’ll never gain credibility at this rate. You’re fucking trash! I make art. You can’t rate this. I’m a real person. I’m not a pop star. I don’t care about anything but making great art. Never come 2 one of my shows ever again, you’re not invited and if you see me…BOW!! [me: Flawless.] This is not pop, it’s pop art!
And that is why I love him! For some reason I don’t think ANY ONE likes Entertainment Weekly that much. Hmm … I wonder why that could be? Lol!
The paps caught a drunk, lost and confused Amy Winehouse outside of her England home last night. Apparently after her night on the town, homegirl had lost her keys and couldn’t get into her house. So a friend had to help her break into her own house by manually raising the garage. What would Amy do without those friends of hers…

(Photo: Wire Image) According to fashion designer Alexis Phifer, rapper Kanye West’s fiancee of nearly 2 years, the engagement is off.
“It’s always sad when things like this end, and we remain friends,” Phifer told People.com. “I wish him the best in his future and all of his endeavors. He’s one of the most talented people I’ve ever met.”
Damn I really wish I could hit this tour up, but times are hard with gas being damn near $4/gallon and all. It’s too late to get good seats now, anyway. I guess I’ll have to settle for the photos and youtube videos. ((Sigh))
The hip-hop star may or may not have been thinking about Richard Wagner’s epic Ring cycle when he decided to turn his Glow in the Dark tour into an apocalyptic space opera. The show, which premiered Wednesday at this city’s Key Arena, had more obvious reference points: Japanese anime, Will Smith in “I Am Legend” and any Imax shows about the planets that West might have seen as a kid.
But West, the chart-topper most determined to burn his likeness into the walls of pop’s Valhalla, cares deeply about what it means to be a hero. Wednesday, he didn’t take a spear to the gut the way Wagner’s Siegfried did, but he did confront terror, doubt and filial grief in a show that carried his braggadocio into the realm of myth itself.
Performing a set of favorites from throughout his repertoire, West moved like a dancer in a Gene Kelly movie on a slanted stage made to look like a distant moon.
Here it is, folks! The T2W premiere of Kanye West’s new video for Homecoming (F/ Chris Martin). The video was filmed in Chicago (obviously) and was directed by music video genius Hype Williams, hence the dope effects and what-not!
Label-mate Common made a cameo in the video. Kanye, this makes video #4 … please don’t tell me this is the last one! You need to make a video anthology or something. Do it for us … the stans!
