The 2008 BET Awards aired last night and yours truly is here to inform you of the hottest (and not so hot) styles worn at the award show. Some of the best dressed female celebs of the night were Rihanna, Gabrielle Union, Jennifer Hudson, and Alicia Keys. Rihanna wore a neon yellow Giambattista Valli dress from his spring/summer 2008 line, Gabrielle Union wore a gorgeous white Celine Vonn dress, Jennifer Hudson wore A brown Peter Soronen corset dress, and Alicia Keys wore a strapless pink David Meister David Meister dress with Melody Ehsani Hate/Love Rings. I know many people may only look at Keri Hilson as a girl that sung in a few featured tracks and cameo’d in a few videos but she is definitely more than that. She has written over 40 songs for some of our favorite artists today. Some of the tracks she has written were Ciara’s “Ooh Baby”, Chris Brown’s “Young Love”, 3LW’s “Feelin’ You”, Avant’s “4 Minutes” and more! She is definitely a beautiful and talented artists that has a voice. Keri Hilson’s debut album, In A Perfect World (Interscope), is due in stores this September. Here is a yet another track by Chris Brown, featuring Keri Hilson, from the re-release of his album Exclusive: The Forever Edition (Jive). It is a nice little fairytale ballad, literally. Chris was a tad weak on some spots but I will admit that he meshes so well with Keri on this song; although in addition to the female counterpart the repetitive “love” song shit, from No Air to Superhuman, can be a little redundant. I feel like Ne-Yo when he said, “I’m so sick of love songs!” This being relevant in my case.

Atlanta’s Luckie Lounge was host to the 11th Annual BMI Atlanta Unsigned Urban Showcase, which featured performances from Lil’ Wayne, Sean Garrett and Teyana Taylor. But Usher, Lil Scrappy, Polow Da Don, Lil John, and a host of celebrities (from Atlanta and beyond) came out just to party!

So a snippet of the video for Usher’s new single Love in this Club has hit the net, and I can’t really say that I’m feeling it. But it’s only 30 seconds, so I’ll reserve a full judgement for Monday (Apr. 7th) when it’s supposed to premiere. Oh, and I just love how I saw Keri Hilson’s face only once in that whole 30 seconds. Looks like ol’ Tameka got to the editors too! Now, you may be thinking: “But Dustin, it’s just 30 seconds! And it’s Usher’s video…” Well I figure an entire video is about 4 minutes long, right? You do the math lol. 4 minutes times 60 seconds per minute, equals 240 seconds. 30 of 240 seconds is about 12%. So that’s 12% of the video. But it might just be that 12% where you barely see her, so like I said before, I’ll reserve a full judgement for when the FULL video premieres.

The streets are talking! And they don’t have many good things to say about Usher’s new wifey Tameka. Word on the sidewalk is that home girl was acting up on the set of her husband’s new video for In This Club. You see, Usher made two big mistakes. Mistake #1: Hiring Tameka as the stylist for his video. Mistake #2 (but technically not really a mistake): Hiring Keri Hilson as the leading lady; someone who is much more beautiful than that Tameka creature whom he calls “wife.” Anyway, a spy for Page Six let the cat out of the bag, and revealed all of the dirt that you’d never hear come from the mouths of neither Usher nor his PR team. Foster was “domineering” and displayed her trademark “Tameka wrath” during a video shoot for Usher’s new song, “Love in the Club,” the weekend of March 15 in LA. Our on-set source said Foster was upset when she found out stunning singer/songwriter Keri Hilson was personally picked by Usher to play his love interest in the video.
“It was supposed to be a sexy video shoot,” our spy said. “And Tameka was there the entire time guarding like a watchdog. It was ridiculous - she knows Keri and knows she’s no video ho or Karrine Steffans.” Steffans, nicknamed “Superhead,” wrote the book, “Video Vixen,” about her alleged flings with Usher and several other artists.
“Tameka is very insecure,” our source said. “Even in rehearsals she was weird and clearly not happy that Keri is so gorgeous. Tameka threw a lot of attitude. The day of the shoot, Tameka dressed Keri very badly - she looked like an extra. Tameka wouldn’t let Keri have her hairdresser there - she had to use the hairdresser who was doing the extras.”
Foster also took a dislike to Usher’s longtime choreographer, Jamaica, and banned her from the set. When Usher and Foster were spotted at the Beverly Hills Hotel last week, “They barely said one word to each other,” we’re told.
