LOS ANGELES // SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 7TH 2008 » I didn’t really get a chance to sit down and watch the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, so I can’t really tell you what went down, but judging by the photos, it looks to have been a pretty good show; much better than last year, I hope! But anyway, I figure it will come on 50 million more times over the next few weeks, so I’ll be able to catch the re-runs. The show featured performances from Rihanna, T.I., Christina Aguilera, Lil Wayne, T-Pain, and more. New music from the few hottest rappers in the game right now! Kanye West, T.I., Jay-Z & Lil’ Wayne have all decided to collaborate on one track titled “Swagger Like Us!” The track is sampled from M.I.A.’s “Paper Planes.” Can you even imagine the buzz … or hype this song will cause?! I’m not sure who’s album this will appear on because Jay-Z, T.I., or maybe even Kanye are all working on new albums. But anyhow, I know ya’ll have to check this beat!

The video premiered on FNMTV last night and I must say Cassie is raw. I’ve always had a eye for Cassie but people don’t like her for whatever reasons I would never understand but watch this video! Weezy was spotted rockin these bright air forces back in June at the South Florida Summer Fest, while D. Woods was spotted wearing hers yesterday outside of MTV studios. So we must ask the question … WHO OWNS THE LOOK?

“Can’t Believe It” is slated to be the first single from T-Pain’s forthcoming album, Thr33 Ringz (Jive/Zomba) in stores this Fall. The song, as well as the rest of the tracks on the album, features production by T-Pain himself. Lil’ Wayne features as a guest appearance on this track as well as another that will make the album. As far as what I think of the track? I don’t know, I mean, it reeally has to grow on me eventually because the snap-music-Autotune-whining thing is getting repetitive (with other people copying him); though, it is his style and signature. I love T-Pain and Wayne but I think they can do better, but then again, what do I know? I only listened to this a couple times …
