The Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art held it’s annual gala last night to celebrate the opening of the new show “Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy†which runs from May 7 to September 1, 2008. Singers Janet Jackson, Beyonce and Mary J. Blige walked the red carpet alongside actresses like Thadie Newton and Paula Patton and all looked fabulous even though most of the dresses worn at the event last night were surprisingly low-key and safe considering the theme. Apr.22.2008 // Note to Mary J. Blige & Jay-Z: Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire!

(Photo: Wire Image) According to Shameless Hype, Mary J. Blige and Jay-Z got some “splaining” to do! Jay and Mary had to postpone their Oakland, CA show, which was originally scheduled for Sunday night, to last night. They, of course, killed it on stage. No surprise there. But according to a source close to Jay-Z, the two got drunk and had so much fun the night before in Vegas that they decided to push the show back one night … to get some rest, I suppose. But that’s not the story they told their concert-going fans. They lied and said they had some “technical difficulties,” when in reality, they just didn’t feel like performing in front of a non-sellout crowd. Check out the e-mail below:
“What’s good, i’m a employee on the Jay-Z/Mary J. Blige tour and im also a native of Oakland. As you may had heard, the show was postponed due to some ol bullshit excuse of technical difficulties, but I know for a fact that nothing was wrong other than the fact that Jay and MJB were in no rush to get to Oakland, because they were too busy getting drunk in Vegas and wasnt trippin off performing in front of a non-sellout crowd in Oakland. I am sending you this because you guys are repping the bay and I was make sure that my town knew the real reason behind this. Please do not release my email address, because a brotha still needs this job with the show. Peace!”

Apr.07.2008 // Mary J. Blige Shouts Out Mr. and Mrs. Carter!

The weekend has come and gone, and no media outlets are reporting that they have received statements from publicists of neither Beyonce nor Jay-Z. But Mary J. Blige, who is currently on tour with Jay, couldn’t hold it in at the Greensboro, NC concert Saturday night, reports People.
“Congratulations to my man, Jay-Z, and my girl B,” the singer said before starting her set.
So yeah, to all of the doubters and nay-sayers, the wedding really did happen.

Hip-hop king Jay-Z and R&B queen Mary J. Blige showed up and showed out (from what I hear) in Miami’s American Airlines Arena Saturday night! The two were there, along with Kanye West, Timbaland, and The Dream, to kick off their Heart of the City tour. Rappers Young Jeezy and Fabolous showed their support from the audience, and were photographed backstage. It looked like a pretty damn good show! Wish I could have been there.
